Local Place Plan

Shape the Future of Kilninver & Kilmelford

Your Community, Your Plan, Your Voice.

The Kilninver and Kilmelford Community Council, in partnership with the Loch Melfort and Kilninver Company Ltd (LMKC), is developing a Local Place Plan (LPP). This is a significant opportunity for our residents to have a direct say in the future of our area.

What is a Local Place Plan?

The LPP is a powerful tool that allows us to tell Argyll and Bute Council exactly how we want our community to look, grow, and function. It may include proposals for a particular development or use of land and identify land and buildings that the community considers to be of particular significance to the local area.

Once completed, this plan will inform the broader Local Development Plan, directly influencing future decisions on:

We Need Your Input

A successful LPP depends on hearing from as many people as possible. Whether you are a long-term resident, a business owner, or a young person growing up here, your perspective is vital. We will use responses to create a LPP that reflects the views of the community.

So that the LPP can be used to inform the Local Development Plan, the LPP needs to be received by the Council and validated by July 2026. Therefore in order for us to have time to analyse responses and draft the LPP we would require all survey responses by 28th February 2026.

Privacy Note: Your responses are 100% anonymous. We do not collect or hold any personal information; your feedback is used to help draft the LPP and will only be shared with LMKC in order for them to make informed decisions on possible projects they are able to take forward.
